Proper Clobber X Farah Vintage X Motoretta - Clothes Story, Portraits in Make Believe

The long anticipated collab between Farah Vintage, Motoretta and our humble selves has finally come to fruition.

A short while ago, we were approached by Toronto taste drivers, Motoretta who generously offered up their entire Farah Vintage collection to us, in an attempt to capture the 2011 line in the Proper Clobber spirit. Naturally, we were thrilled beyond words to get our hands on these beautiful threads and last month, on a cold and grey Sunday afternoon harnessed up two pals and shot this very special edition of Proper Clobber’s Clothes Stories.

Toronto is undoubtedly, a center of high immigration from all ends of the globe. Well over 100 languages are spoken here and every imaginable cuisine is available, at a fingertip’s reach.

Our little neighbourhood of Little Italy, has always seen a noticeably atmospheric stream of European expats, coming and going on a regular basis. And, I truly believe it has made this area of the city so special in so many ways and strangely continental.

This Farah X Motoretta Clothes Story, celebrates these Italian newcomers and makes fantasy of what we have to assume, was a surge in café culture, amazing European style and football fashion that they brought to Canada during the 1980s.
