New Order Announce North American Tour

Following a sucessful run at Cochella last weekend, Manchester electro legends, New Order have just announced a multi date North American tour, kicking off April 19 in Austin and closing out at Montreal’s Osheaga festival in August. The tour will see Hook and the gang hitting cities thay havn’t in many years.

Watch for them at this years Lolopolooza in Chicago.

Well, this comes as a pleasant surprise on a Wednesday morning, I must say. The always insightful and just plain fabulous, Shane Meadows (This Is England, Somer’s Town) has finished cutting his latest project, ‘The Stone Roses - Made of Stone.’ The title pretty much says it all.

The film documents the Roses’ unexpected 2012 reunion and features more classic 90s footage than you can shake a maraca at. Anyone getting teary over the legendary manchester band, will no doubt be excited for this. We are… very!

We here at Proper Clobber have taken a bit of heat in the last month or so, for not being more active with our posts. First off, thanks to all of our readers for their iron clad patience. I’ve been in the process of buying and renovating a house. Yes, yes, “exuses, excuses” you say.

Well on that note we are back with avengence. We’ve got lots of gear to talk about this week plus we’re coming to NYC tomorrow… all kinds of craziness.

To kick things off, hows about this “dark sand” harrington from beloved Brits, Lyle & Scott. In their own words, they havn’t really F’ed with the timeless design one bit. Instead, they focus their energy on ensuring all the enduring details of this jacket are done to perfection. Levi’s Commuter Collection 2013

Levi’s keeps flogging this commuter collection they dropped a few seasons back. The idea is that these are the hippest and most practical garments a city cyclist can be seen in. (That opinion may be for the beholder). Nevertheless, when you spend that much coin on a bike with no brakes, you got to have the cache to justify it.

The Levi’s Commuter stuff is both stylish and full of hard riding, hard living features. Things like the crotch and butt are excessively stitched and the denim gives a bit more that a traditional pair of jeans. Furthermore, there seems to be a reflective strip running down the inside of legs, as a little turn-up at the cuff reveals.

We love the slim cuts and terrace approved wind cheaters. Available this spring.

When you have a stellar timepiece to present, the term “watch” just doesn’t seem to cut it. Ralph Lauren thinks a more top shelf description for this latest offering is “chronometer.”

The bells and whistles are all in the rugged quality. Burnished gun metal makes up the bulk of the case and the sporty nylon strap compels you to get it out of the jewelry box and into the streets.

No discounting the guts of the RL67, Ralph Lauren uses the Richemont-modified self-winding calibre. A pretty penny at $3250, but a stunning “watch” nonetheless.
