Morrissey Exonerated

This week NME announced a settlement with Morrissey over his 2007 lawsuit with the magazine. We all recall the explosive piece, ‘Big Mouth Strikes Again’ in which NME alludes quite heavily to the fact that Morrissey is indeed a racist. Using Union Jack references and some barely contextual lyrics, the taste making rag concluded that the hero of an entire generation is at least a xenophobe.

Well no longer! NME was quoted by saying “After an on-going dialogue with Morrissey and his representatives, NME… publishes a clarification in the magazine and online which makes it clear that we do not believe we ever called Morrissey a racist and nor do we believe he is.” 

So feel free to dig out ‘Your Arsenal’ again and bask in it’s non-inflammatory content… Case closed.
